Studied under the founder and developed it internationally

Green Chemistry Specialist

  • D. from the Graduate School of Science and Engineering, Waseda University in 2004 (under Prof. Hiroyuki Nishide of the Department of Applied Chemistry) for his research on green chemistry-based production methods for engineering plastics using water as a solvent.
  • He then moved to the U.S. and engaged in research under the founder of green chemistry (Prof. John Warner) at the Green Chemistry Institute of the University of Massachusetts from 2005 to 2007.
  • In 2007, he moved to Monash University, Australia as Principal Investigator (PI) and head of the laboratory.
  • As tenured Associate Professor until September 2020, he leads the Green Chemistry, Environmentally Applicable Polymers and Plastics research at Monash University.
  • From October 2015 to March 2019, he was a JST PRESTO researcher (concurrent position).
  • He will assume his current position from October 2020.
